Sally O'Neill, working in Mixed-media, Painting

Sally originally trained and worked as an Architect but found it a difficult career to follow whilst living overseas with her husband and three children. During these years in Egypt, Oman, Syria and the Netherlands Sally kept sketchbooks and painted watercolours documenting her travels. She has exhibited in all the countries where she has lived and her work is in private collections all over the world. The subjects of Sally's work are landscapes and buildings, searching out the vernacular and local identity, looking for colours, patterns, forms and textures that excite and inspire. She currently works primarily in acrylic on canvas but also uses ink & watercolour, charcoal, pencil with graphite and printmaking. Sally lives in the beautiful Lyd Valley where she finds much inspiration from her surroundings, the ever changing skies, woodlands, fields, hedges and moors.
