Nicholas Palmer, working in Mixed-media, Painting, Wood

After many years working in industry I decided to commit myself to my art full time. Art is so important to me as it is the only way I am able to make sense of the world. Painting is something I have only been doing for a few years. Prior to that spent most of my time drawing with pen and ink. It is something I could to in a hotel as I travelled around the country on business. We moved to Devon about seven years and in this time I have learnt a lot from art groups, workshops and art courses. I am primarily an abstract artist working with inks, acrylics and mixed media. I am influenced by our “Wonderful World” which encompasses all aspects of the Natural Sciences. I have particular interests in Earth Science and Invertebrates. Microfossils have featured quite heavily in my drawings. I am looking forward to 2019 as a time when I will be carrying out a painting project across Devon and Cornwall. I will also be conducting a series of Abstract Art workshops. I am open to commissions and have created some pen and ink drawings telling the story of a family or business which were exceptionally well received.
