Martin Clark, working in Mixed-media, Painting

Art was my first absorbing interest and I drew constantly as a child. Career paths led me from art teaching to broader educational roles, including eventually Headship and Advisory work. Another dimension was working as an Art Therapist in a psychiatric prison, training in psychotherapy and training Leadership Consultants. Leaving a formal world of work and since 2006 reclaiming the primary interest in art is an exciting journey which has seen a range of new skills and styles building on both my early traditional art schooling and experimental college development. I now work in pastel, paint and with collage. I begin from drawings sometimes supported by photographs, often painting with brushes or knives. My interest references the emotional impact of landscapes wild, rural or urban but also people, atmospheres and occasions.
